Wilderness and Remote First Aid Course Description

The purpose of this course it to provide individuals a foundation of first aid principles and skills to be able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate emergency medical services (EMS) response. This includes wilderness and remote environments, including urban disasters, such as earthquakes and hurricanes.

The course length is approximately 17 hours.

Cost: $70.00 for currently registered Scouts and Scout Leaders.

Cost:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Note: Similar courses offered by other agencies average about $350.00.

Upcoming Classes

2024 Classes

Class 1 - Friday/Saturday, April 19 and 20, from 5:00 PM day 1 until 6:30 PM day 2. - Class will be held at Krupp Scout Hollow north of Rigby, ID. US Hwy 20, Exit 325.

These classes are customized for BSA youth leaders and adult leaders.

Currently registered Scouts and Scouters can register for class at GTC Training or contact the BSA Grand Teton Council Office at (208) 522-5155.

Non-Scouters should register through Owens Health and Safety at WRFA Class or call (208) 360-6491.

Prerequisites

Guard Tube1. Have current adult CPR/AED certification.

2. Be at least 14 years of age on or before the last scheduled session of the course.
