CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers

The purpose of the American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers program is to train professional-level rescuers to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants until more advanced medical personnel take over.

Designed for individuals with a duty to respond to emergencies, this program combines discussions, video and hands-on training. Real-life rescue scenarios reinforce decision-making skills. Free quarterly refreshers. Course covers how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants until more advanced medical personnel take over.

The course takes approximately 5 hours and 35 minutes.

Lifeguard CPRTopics include:

1. Primary assessment

2. Ventilations (incl. use of CPR breathing barriers and use of BVMs)

3. Choking (incl. conscious and unconscious)

4. CPR (incl. one- and two-rescuer)

5. AED

6. Optional training in use of epinephrine auto-injectors and asthma inhalers available.
